A Night In The Park. (RED & TOPAZ)

The sun was beginning to set. Not many people were left but the few that were, started leaving. The sound of crying children and laughter slowly ceased. She was smiling at the on-goers, admiring the fact that they had a life to go back to. A world to see.

Why can't my life be like that? she thought. Why can't I have a family or, at least, acquaintances?

Not knowing where to go, she scanned the park one more time then locked the gate. The rough iron felt cold against her warm hands, sending a shiver through her body. After locking all the gates, she unraveled a blanket on the grass, fluffed up a pillow then lay down. Maybe.

Maybe she could pull through.

While in thought, a branch cracked in the distance, though she didn't take notice of it.

He hid behind a tree, his heart pumping. I need to feel the adrenaline again, he thought. Taking caution where he placed his foot, he walked to where the woman was thinking. She had not yet fallen asleep.

He raised a knife. It glinted in the moonlight, taking the woman out of her thoughts. The knife caught her sight for a second. The man grinned, his ears turned red from excitement.

Screaming and laughing. Screaming from the woman and laughing from the man.

No one knew Jane Morris and no one knew David Smith. So no one, but myself, knows of this story.
