People in relationships or have crushes must know that you are perfectly fine as one person; you don’t need someone, you want someone. And then again, want can never be as strong as a need. Lust is a thing… a non-existent thing. Lust is the word for a heavy desire for someone or something. In other words, want.
Want is not the same as need. You don’t need anyone except your mother, especially when you wet the bed; she will comfort you and clean up the mess with no fuss. You don’t need anyone except your father, especially when you spill ice-cream on your dress; he’ll buy you a new one. You don’t need anyone except your siblings, especially when they tell you that you can’t do it; they’re making sure you succeed and prove them wrong.
You don’t need someone to help you through that succession. Your family are the only ones that will keep you busy and the only reason they bug the hell out of you is so you will prove to them what success really means. Even though they annoy the crap out of you, they’re making sure you grow to that success… without someone holding your hand, guiding you all the way there.
If you really think you can’t survive without your lover or crush, let me ask you this: HOW THE HELL DID YOU SURVIVE THOSE FIFTEEN YEARS OF YOUR LIFE BEFORE? I’m sure your parents and siblings would’ve lowered their pushy statements by the time you were ten.
The moral of this thing is that you are perfect the way you are and your family will always welcome you with open arms. You don’t need someone else to help you because you are strong and independent just the way you are.
-xoxo, Erika
