A/N: I have an entire book on Wattpad (link at the end) filed with mini sagas like this one called One Hundred Darknesses ('cause they've all got one hundred words). This is an extract from that book. I hope y'all leave with a more horrendous humor.
Bodies lay strewn on the weak pavements and blood and debris climbed never-ending piles. The water began to drag out, pulling my chest out with it. I fell back from the balcony, landing on the dirtied carpet.
Why do I take pride knowing that this is my fault? That those people outside, suffering, are making me happy?
I pushed myself off the carpet and walked to the kitchen. My mother's heart lay on the table, red and ripe. I smiled.
Revenge, they say, is a horrible thing that gets you nowhere.
But the taste is so sweet. Just so sweet.
