The Fireweres and Iceweres (FULL STORY - Part One)

Prologue.

"He mustn't know. I promise I will let him near when the time comes but not now. It is too dangerous. He won't understand," my mother pleaded. I stood behind the door of the family room. Ma was arguing with my father. I didn't know why. Who was the 'he' they kept referring to? Was it me?

"Tamara, you must understand that Aaron must know. I don't care if he doesn't understand, as long as he knows that it is important, that he shouldn't meddle with it. His power is rare. You know Iceweres aren't popular," Pa objected. So it was me they were talking about. I always knew about Iceweres. They were mean and nasty in all ways possible.

How was I one?

"Can we talk about this later? I can sense a spirit outside," Ma whined, rubbing her temples. Pa nodded. I took that as my cue to run back to my room.

All I want is to know...
