The Mecha

Wind rumbled ferociously and...

...gone.

Just like that, the iron-based figure (looking to be about eighty metres) vanished. He appeared to have had the power to displace the individual atoms of his body - causing the wind to rumble - and move them somewhere else.

How could 'The Mecha' harness such a power?

I slipped out of my hiding hole, running out onto the streets, past the library and shops, all the way to the laboratory.

Maybe he couldn't harness the power, but someone else did.

I pushed my pass in for verification and ran up the stairs up to the Robotics and Chemistry floor. Whoever did this obviously used that to his advantage.

I slammed against Professor Williams' door. The Head of the Department was always in there, working or sleeping. His health was deteriorating very fast - and he knew that. He said he'd prefer to spend his last, lonely minutes working for his passion. He knew what everyone was doing - he could definitely help.

When he did not answer, I slammed hard, using my entire body's force to unhinge the door from it's frame.

I stared shocked at the sight before me. Papers - blueprints - were scattered around the room, the Professor nowhere to be found. The blueprints were stuck up on the walls, diagrams on the white boards, large A3 plans on the floor.

But mess was not out of the ordinary for Professor Williams.

It was what was on the blueprints, whiteboard and planning sheets was what scared me.

The Mecha.

I covered my mouth.

Everyone trusted this man, this great man. He was a wonderful, dedicated person. He was-

There was rumbling...

...and it was coming from right behind me.
